Sometimes the week just brings on a celebratory release with tequila shots, lol. But I’d like to actually post my new favorite adult beverage that I have named: The Bloody Pepper. Thank you to my husband for perfecting this drink! The experimenting has been fun too.
Here’s the recipe for 2 drinks:
- 1 large jalapeno, diced
- 2 slices of jalapeno for garnish
- 2 tablespoons of ginger syrup
- 3.5 oz tequila
- a splash of orange bitters
- 8 oz of Bundaberg blood orange soda
- 6-8 ice cubes for mixing
- 2 large cocktail ice cubes for serving
Muddle the diced jalapenos (take out seeds if you want it less spicy) with the ginger syrup. Combine with tequila, bitters and ice cubes into a stainless steel shake and shake vigorously for about 1 minute. Your hands may be frozen at this point, but don’t mind it! Place 1 large cocktail ice cube into a glass. Strain mixture into cocktail glass and top off with blood orange soda. Finish by placing a jalapeno slice on top of the ice cube. Viola! A delicious, spicy, refreshing adult beverage is served. We keep some cocktail glasses in the freezer so they are ready when we need them. Enjoy!
