The other day we were brain storming at our monthly office meeting and we came up with this: casual Fridays in which the doctors and staff can wear tee shirts that are Oakland or optical friendly. The tee shirts serve a few purposes:
1. It’s an easy ice breaker for patients. They usually see the shirt and then look at my glasses and say “nice glasses!” It’s fun and definitely lightens the mood.
2. It’s great advertising for eye care in general. Just walking down the street, people do the double take and say “nice glasses!” Maybe they will remember to see their eye doctor. Hopefully it’s me, lol.
3. We have so much fun dressing with a statement. It’s quirky and original and makes us giggle and happy. Great for office morale. One of biggest pet peeves, is getting through my work day . . . I want to enjoy the journey and really be present in my own body and when I engage with patient care. The tee shirt is a great reminder.
4. I asked my husband to wear this while he coaches his Crossfit class. Not that I want women inspecting his pecs, but the tee shirt brings an awareness to being comfortable with your body.
