I have to say that going to and watching the Crossfit Games in LA last weekend was tremendously inspiring. I was really pumped up and ready for a great workout yesterday, and that’s what I got. The workout is called “MACHO MAN.” Or perhaps MACHO WOMAN, lol.
I really love this workout (although it was very difficult near the end) as it involves quite a bit of barbell work which is always an excellent ab workout in itself. Win, win.
MACHO (WO)MAN
Every minute for 20 rounds of the following:
3 POWER CLEANS
3 FRONT SQUATS
3 PUSH PRESS
I did this with 35 lbs. and started sweating bullets by the third minute and was having doubts whether I would finish or not. Mental game on! I just concentrated on doing 1 set at a time and doing my reps with the best technique possible. Having some rest between the sets was very helpful as well. Needless to say, I finished it and would actually do this workout at home with dumbbells.
After 180 total reps, what’s sore today? My shoulders. My abs (yes!). My hamstrings. My ass (yes!).
